Challenge settings

After setting up the description and images, select the challenge settings. There are three types of challenges:  Take an action, Make a pledge and Learn and earn. Select the type of challenge from the dropdown menu.

Take an action

Take an action challenges can be setup to verify the user action with either a Challenge code (set by you) or by uploading a photo. If the challenge is set with a code then participants must be provided with the code after completing the action, which they can then enter to claim their points.  If a challenge is set to verify by uploading a photo, you must approve the submitted photo in the admin portal before the participant receives their points.

Duration: All challenges require the start and end dates to be set. The dates control when the challenge will be visible to members.

Make a pledge

Make a pledge challenges can be set up for events that do not require entering a Challenge code or reading an article.

If you want challenge participants to earn their points before the challenge date, you can choose to award the points a certain number of days after they have joined. To do this, simply enter the number of days into the 'Award points after _ days' field. For example, a Plastic Free July Pledge may be visible for the month of July, but you want participants to be awarded their points for joining 5 days after they click 'Participate' - enter '5' into the text field. If you leave the field blank, points will be awarded on the challenge end date.

Learn and earn

Learn and earn challenges involve participants reading short, informational articles. Select ‘Learn and earn’ from the drop-down menu to activate the insert article field. Use the tools at the bottom of the box to format the text.

You can also set poll or quiz questions to a learn and earn article. To set up questions click on Add quiz questions.

Select the question type from the drop-down menu.

If you have selected poll, enter your question and answer choices (up to 10 answer choices) and click Save.

If you have selected quiz, enter your question, answer choices (up to 10 answer choices), select the correct answer from the drop-down and click Save.

You can edit or delete your questions using the buttons to the right. You can add as many questions as you like and can do a combination of poll and quiz questions.
